Across this city, I have a friend
Who cares not for fashion nor trend.
One day he had this troubling epiphany
That pierced through life’s cacophony,
What chance befell the forts of yore,
Long forgotten in all but lore?
A list was draft and lots were cast
Whence each monument to a legendary past
Would be homaged by this friend of mine
Piqued by the surety of adventure and grind
We fell in step behind said friend
On this road that plans no end.
That ↑ was my feeble attempt at poetry. This ↓ is a list of forts all across Pakistan that I have visited, in an attempt to explore and discover more about each of these absolutely characterful monuments:
- Baghsar Fort Atop a knoll deep in the wooded hills of Kashmir, for two hundred years this fort has stood sentinel over the ancient route between Kashmir and the Punjab.
- Lahore Fort One of the most prominent landmarks of Lahore, this monolith has witnessed the rise and fall of countless empires, serving as the citadel of the city for over a thousand years.
