The desecration of Palestine and Al-Aqsa and our responsibility

This is a translation of the pamphlet titled “hurmat e masjid e Aqsa aur hamari zimmedari” by the Tanzeem e Islami, and words that I fully stand by.

The words of the Most High:

“And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, “Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?”

(Quran Al-Nisa 75)

The Prophet PBUH said: “The Hour will not begin until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims will kill them, until a Jew hides behind a rock or a tree, and the rock or tree will say: O Muslim, O slave of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Except the gharqad (a thorny tree), for it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (Muslim 2292)*

The history of the illegitimate Zionist state

The reality is that Israel’s history of the last century is laden with massacres, genocide and wanton barbarity against the Muslims of Palestine. In 1897, in the Swiss city of Basel, the leaders of the world Zionist Organization held an important Congress in which a complete roadmap for Greater Israel was approved. In 1917, using the British as tools via the Balfour Declaration, a path for the colonization of Palestine was made. From 1917 to 1948, Palestinian lands were stolen through terrorism and deception.

In 1948 the illegitimate state of Israel was established and the United Nations was forced to accept it. Zionist settlers from all over the world were brought in and the process of razing Palestinian towns to create Jewish settlements was started which continues to this day.

In 1967 areas of Syria, Jordan and Egypt were stolen and Eastern Jerusalem and the West Bank were occupied. In 1947 Jews were only found on 7% of Palestinian land whereas today they occupy over 85%. In 1982 in the Lebanese camps of Sabra and Shatila, for three days straight under the leadership of former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, every night thousands of men women and children were massacred. At the time, the IDF and their cronies were quoted to have said, “[T]he question we are putting to ourselves is—how to begin, by raping or killing?”

Through the Camp David Accords, Oslo Accords and more recently the Abraham Accords, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Oman and Sudan were subdued. In the recent past efforts were being made to quickly develop relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Israel has for the last 20 years made Gaza the world’s largest open-air prison in which the wanton massacre of 2.5 million Palestinians is continuously ongoing in broad daylight. Scores of Palestinians are martyred in the West Bank and other Palestinian areas each year.

In 2017 a basic Jewish citizenship law was passed under which only Jews are true citizens of Israel whereas Palestinian Arabs are now formally second-class citizens.

In the first 9 months of 2023 the Al-Aqsa mosque was desecrated 23 times. 4,500 new settlements were approved, and hundreds of Palestinians were killed. Just a few days prior to the 7th of October 5,000 Jewish settlers stormed Al-Aqsa. These were trained soldiers who hold the rank of reservists in the Israeli Occupation Forces.

The importance of Al-Aqsa and the Palestinian Cause

1. Al-Aqsa is the first qibla of the Muslims and is the site where the Prophet (PBUH) led all the Messengers of Allah in prayer during the mairaj.
2. According to the Quran and the Hadith this is a blessed area and includes the Haram Al-Aqsa which the Jews call the Temple Mount, along with the Dome of the Rock.
3. According to the Hadith Al-Aqsa is one of the three Masjids towards which it is allowed to travel to perform pilgrimage, and praying in it is the equivalent of performing hundreds of prayers.
4. During the reign of the second Caliph Umar ibn Khattab(RA), the Jews handed over its abbacy to Muslims without any war or bloodshed

Two-state solution or one Islamic State?

The founder of the Islamic nuclear power of Pakistan, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah called Israel the bastard child of the West. It is unfortunate reality that today the government and establishment lean towards a two-state solution. In reality there can only be one state, in which the rightful rulers and caretakers of Al-Aqsa are the true inheritors of the land, the Muslims.

It is important to note that from a theological perspective, as a result of the constant disobedience and rebellion of the Jews, Allah deposed from them the honor and status of being His chosen people.

The Lord says in the Quran, “They were stricken with disgrace and misery, and they invited the displeasure of Allah for rejecting Allah’s signs and unjustly killing the prophets. This is ˹a fair reward˺ for their disobedience and violations.” (2:61)

and “that was a people whose time has passed.” (2:134/141)

After this, Muhammad (PBUH)’s followers were bestowed the honor, “You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.“ (3:110)

The changing of the Qibla (from Al-Aqsa to the Kaabah) is also evidence of the dismissal of the previous people, and the ultimate fact is that the Chosen People of the Lord are Muslims:
“Strive for the cause of Allah in the way He deserves, for it is He Who has chosen you” (22:78)
It is another thing that today the Muslim ummah is badly unsuccessful at shouldering this heavy responsibility.

It should be clear that the Jews who have today plundered and occupied the land of Palestine, have no divine, moral or other right to be there. The truth is that if this decision (of the true benefactors of the land) is to be done on the basis of how long someone has forcefully occupied a land, then Iqbal straightened the narrative aptly:

If the Jew has the right to the land of Palestine,
Then why does the Arab not have a right to Spain?

Israel’s nefarious objectives

It must also be asked that after all why have the Jews unjustly occupied Palestine? In this regard it must be noted that on the basis of the teachings of the Jewish-authored Torah and Talmud (the originals long corrupted), they are waiting for their Messiah, whom the Prophet PBUH informed us very clearly will actually be the Dajjal (Anti-Christ).

In reality Isa (Jesus) was divinely ordained by Allah as the Messiah of the Jews, but they refused to believe in him, rejected his message and as soon as they could, they crucified him. That Allah raised him up to Himself alive is another thing. The Jews do not realize this and think that their Messiah (who is in reality the Dajjal/Anti-Christ) is yet to come.

To establish the world government of the Dajjal, the Jews have a 5-point agenda:

1. Capturing the land of Palestine and establishing settlements within
2. Inducing the Armageddon (Al Malhamah Al Kubra) i.e. a great war
3. As a result of the Armageddon, establishing the Greater Israel that Netanyahu touts
4. Demolishing the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock, and establishing the Third Temple of Solomon in their place
5. Bringing the Throne of David to the Third Temple and placing it in the Temple, then holding the Dajjal’s coronation ceremony on it

Our responsibilities and action items

1. Arranging for the Qunoot e Nazila in the Masjid and during prayer (Du’aa for protection against Natural Disaster, Plague and War)
2. Specifically increasing the nafl prayers and increasing dua
3. Individually and collectively moving away from sin
4. Studying the history of the Palestinian cause and the illegal Zionist occupation
5. Increasing in ourselves and our children valor for jihad in the way of Allah and desire for martyrdom
6. Full material support to the Palestinian Muslims
7. Fulfilling the duty of nahi an al munkar (forbidding what is wrong) by verbally speaking out against Israel and its supporters at every level
8. Arranging and participating in peaceful protests and demonstrations
9. Demanding that Muslim rulers, establishment, and the armies of the ummah provide political, diplomatic, material and also military aid to the Muslims of Palestine
10. Establishing programs for military training for every individual of the Muslim ummah at a national level
11. Muslim countries to close their airspace for any kind of access to Israel
12. The Muslim countries that have trade and diplomatic relations with Israel should immediately cease all ties
13. At a private and public level the boycott of all companies and products that either directly or indirectly support Israel. A concerted effort be made at a national level to introduce alternatives in the local market through facilitation of investment and encouragement of manufacturing
14. Spending our body, soul and wealth in the struggle to spread Allah’s deen across the world

Get up, or there will never again be a resurrection!
Hurry! The times have moved the move of the end times.

اٹھو وگرنہ حشر نہیں ہوگا پھر کبھی
دوڑو زمانہ چال قیامت کی چل گیا

Muslim countries must unite to free the land of Palestine from the Zionist occupation and take actionable steps in this regard. The majority of the non-Muslim countries stand behind zionist cruelty, and so the Muslim world, and in particular Muslim rulers, not standing up for the sanctity of Al-Aqsa and the plight of the Palestinians is a matter of extreme spinelessness.

It must also be kept in mind that Israel’s sinister gaze is focused on the Islamic nuclear-armed Pakistan. In 1967 Israeli prime minister David Ben Gurion called Pakistan his real foe. Current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly expressed his desire to break Pakistan’s nuclear-armed teeth in the recent past.

However, we the Muslims of Pakistan are sitting idly, ignorant of our stature and our responsibilities. How can we stand up against the Jews and the Hindus when we have an interest-based exploitative financial system and as a result are in a state of war with Allah and His Prophet (PBUH)?

It is necessary that we implement an Islamic system in this god-given state of Pakistan and that its people sacrifice their body, soul and wealth in striving for this so that Allah may be pleased with us and in the future bless us with His help and assistance in the spreading His message across the world.
“O believers! If you stand up for Allah, He will help you and make your steps firm.” (47:7)

We should not forget that glad tidings exist in the Hadith:
“There will be a group of people who come from the east who will clear the path for the Mahdi” (Ibn Maja)
and
“Black flags will emerge from Khorasan, and nothing will be able to stand in their path until they are received in Al-Aqsa” (Tirmidhi)

Thus we must continue our efforts. Prior to Judgement Day, the word of Allah shall dominate the entire world.
“He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with true guidance and the religion of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists” (9:33)

May Allah give all of us Muslims the ability to fulfill our religious obligations.

*note that this is in context of the End Times when a portion of the Jews are prophesied to align themselves with the Anti-Christ, who the Prophet Isa (Jesus) will descend from Heaven to fight and subdue.
